![]() Do these rests not want tourists? Is that why online there is no availability at all and then you show up and get a table in minutes? In any case, I was not optimistic to start as our waitress was CLUELESS about the food and we hadn't been to Sansei since 2014 but then our food was simply outstanding. Seriously I don't know what's going on with online reservations in Maui, as the same thing happened at Mama's, Plantation and Monkey Pod. no reservations but then we got there and the Resto is empty at 8 pm. We almost didn't come because online showed. Previously it was alwaysat happy hour because my auntie was a kama'aina but this time it was just me and the hubby. We've been coming to the Kapalua or Kihei location of Sansei in Maui for 20 years. One recommendation for a drink would be the lychee drink paired with your sushi, it just wakes you up. Unlike most sushi places, the roll did not smell like fish, it was also buttery but not as buttery as the salmon roll from earlier. One last thing we tried was the albacore roll and you can definitely taste the freshness in that. We also tried the otoro sashimi and that was delicious. The drinks there are strong, but they paired so well with the sushi. The waiter let us know that the salmon was grown in New Zealand only and we searched it up and he was correct. Then we got the BGB King Salmon roll with lemon juice and some salt and the salmon was so buttery and delicious. by our waiter who was extremely knowledgeable about the sushi they had there. We reserved this place and as soon as they opened, so many people showed up to the restaurant, it is so good! We had the two specialty rolls: Sansei Specialty Roll, and the Dragoonfly roll.
